Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks for versatile applications
Our Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks are used for the horizontal transport of goods that can be moved on pallets or other load carriers. This buying guide gives you an overview on which models you can find in our online store and how to choose the right one for your needs.
1. How to choose the right Jungheinrich hand pallet truck for your needs
Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks, painted in characteristic yellow, are the premium devices among manually operated pallet trucks. Not only do the special lifting hydraulics allow intensive and power-saving continuous operation, but these industrial trucks are also particularly comfortable to operate. The patented, ergonomic towbar handle is suitable for both left-handed and right-handed operators, which makes picking up, lowering and transporting loads easy to do conveniently and without much effort. Impressed markings on the truck also indicate the right way to secure a pallet if it is picked up transversely.
Made of high-performance steel, our hand pallet trucks feature bushed connections, sophisticated kinematics and rear-moulded shapes: this ensures stability and a low dead weight. Maintenance-free Teflon bearings and powerful lifting hydraulics also guarantee that the hand pallet trucks in the Jungheinrich range require only minimal maintenance.
In order to find the right Jungheinrich hand pallet truck for your application, there are some important selection criteria to consider.
Load capacity of Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks
Jungheinrich pallet trucks have a load capacity of up to 3000kg. It is imperative to note that the trucks must never be overloaded. In addition to the loads to be transported on a regular basis, you should also consider possible peak loads when selecting the right model. The load centre distance should also be observed and the weight of the load should always be evenly distributed. You can find more information on this in our guide "Carrying capacity for industrial trucks - Dimensioning loads correctly".
Fork length and fork width: important for load dimensions and load support
Most Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks in our range have a standard fork length of 1150mm and a standard fork carrying width of 520 to 540mm. You can also buy models with special fork lengths and widths. The dimensions of the forks determine the type and pick-up of the load carriers:

Please note: For models with extra-long forks, the load capacity may decrease with increasing fork length.
Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks are equipped with two steering wheels and at least two fork rollers. To enable you to move loads smoothly on uneven surfaces or over speed bumps, we also stock hand pallet trucks with tandem fork rollers. The load weight is better distributed on these dual rollers, resulting in smoother operation and greater stability when moving loads. At the same time, wear on the individual rollers is reduced. Additional infeed rollers in the fork tip also facilitate entry and exit into a pallet.
The wheels and castors for Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks are available from us in different materials. In general, we recommend always opting for tyres that match the operating and ambient conditions. This is the only way to ensure that the rollers and wheels operate safely and remain smooth for easy operation.

Additional equipment for Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks
A time- and effort-saving feature of many Jungheinrich pallet trucks from our range is the quick lift function. This makes picking up, moving and lowering palletised goods and goods that need to be supported from underneath even easier and more convenient.
With the quick lift function, you can lift pallets weighing up to 120kg:
with a single pump stroke directly under the pallet
with three pump strokes you can lift the pallet free of the floor and move it
with five pump strokes you can reach the maximum lifting height
The feature is ideal for work with lower load weights or when moving empty pallets frequently.
Please note: With a load of more than 120kg, the quick stroke switches to a normal stroke function.
2. Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks with special equipment
Our entire range of high-performance pallet trucks considerably simplify horizontal load transport in warehouses, workshops or logistics. For particular requirements, two models from the Jungheinrich AM 22 hand pallet truck range and Jungheinrich flat pallet truck range are available with special functions.
The AM 22 series of Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks offers all the advantages of standard hand pallet trucks in addition to other special functions. The additional functions and special equipment are available for the AM 22 models on request and include:

Jungheinrich flat pallet trucks
These Jungheinrich pallet trucks offer a very low entry height of only 51mm and particularly flat forks. This means that pallets and other load carriers that can be lifted from underneath can be picked up almost at floor level. The Jungheinrich flat pallet trucks also enable the pick-up and horizontal transport of:
non-standard Euro pallets
low one-way pallets
low-rise flat pallets
Our flat pallet trucks are also available with short forks and with special fork carrying widths as required. These special models are best used exclusively on flat, smooth surfaces, as they manoeuvre with very little ground clearance.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks?
Our pallet trucks are ideal for the horizontal transport of palletised goods, transport boxes or wire mesh boxes, are easy to operate and are uncomplicated in function, operation and maintenance.
Advantages:
durable and robust (more than 10,000 stroke cycles possible)
suitable for continuous industrial use
low maintenance requirements
inexpensive to purchase and maintain
can be used without a forklift licence
independent of power sources and batteries
Disadvantages:
high effort required for travel and lifting movement
low handling speed: limited scope of performance
How does the quick lift function work on Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks?
Jungheinrich pallet trucks with a quick lift function can lift loads of up to 120kg with just a few pump strokes. With just one tiller stroke, the truck is under the pallet, with just three tiller strokes, a loaded pallet can be lifted off the floor and thus moved, and with just five pump strokes, the maximum lifting height is reached. If empty pallets or loads weighing less than 120kg have to be moved, the quick lift function saves time and energy. If loads weighing more than 120kg are moved from underneath, the industrial truck automatically switches to the normal lift function, which requires more tiller strokes.
Which hydraulic oil is recommended for Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks?
Dirt and dust can accumulate in the lifting hydraulics over time and impair its functions. Too low an oil level also has a negative effect on lifting performance. To ensure that the lifting piston in the hydraulic system remains slidable and works reliably, hydraulic oil must be topped up at regular intervals. The hydraulic oils HLP 46 or HLP 32 are mainly used for this purpose. The number represents the viscosity of the hydraulic oil. However, special hydraulic oils are also available for Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks used in food processing areas. They must comply with special hygiene regulations and safety standards.
