How to find the right dry vacuum cleaner

Dry vacuum cleaners are essential for keeping commercial and industrial zones clean and safe to operate in. Different from conventional household vacuum cleaners, our commercial dry vacuums are designed for the highest possible performance., Equipped with powerful motors and high suction capabilities for removing even stubborn dirt quickly and without leaving any residue, they are suitable for prolonged and long-term use. They are typically used in the following areas:

  • As an office vacuum cleaner for vacuuming carpets, tiles, laminate, etc.
  • As a hotel vacuum cleaner for cleaning rooms and corridors
  • Floor vacuum cleaners in workshops, e.g. for vacuuming up metal or wood chips

Unlike other options in our industrial vacuum cleaner range, these models are designed to combine performance with practicality as they are very similar to a standard dry household vacuum, only with additional power. At Jungheinrich PROFISHOP you will find various dry vacuum cleaners for the commercial sector from the Nilfisk® brand, including options with HEPA filters for cleaning the exhaust air.

2. Container volume and performance

Which vacuum cleaner will be most suitable for your needs depends on where and how you plan to use it. It is important to match both container volume and suction strength with the desired application. In terms of container volume, our models range from a very compact 5L to an extra-large capacity of 35L. Consider the following questions before choosing a container size:

  • How much dust or dirt typically accumulates in an average workday?
  • How often is the vacuum cleaner likely to be used (e.g. several times a day in the same area)?

The suction power of a dry vacuum cleaner depends less on its maximum wattage and more on the pressure generated in the suction tube. The higher the pressure, the greater the vacuum created in the hose and the more effectively dirt is sucked into the pipe. The hose diameter also plays a role here. The greater the diameter, the larger the dirt particles that can be accommodated.

Pressure Application
Up to 220 mbar

For office environments, hotels, and retail stores, where only dirt from dust and light dirt particles such as sand, dried sludge, or similar are likely to occur.

Up to 250 mbar

For commercial environments where larger particles need to be vacuumed, in addition to dust and smaller dirt particles (e.g. leaves in open entrance areas, wood or metal shavings, and animal hair).

up to 280 mbar

For professional use in the commercial sector, where wet and stubborn dirt (e.g. food residues, wet leaves, or fibreglass) need to be vacuumed.

3. Purchase a dry vacuum cleaner with the right filter functions

Many of our office vacuum cleaners are equipped with HEPA filters as standard. These are suitable for cleaning areas where high hygiene requirements apply and the exhaust air should be free of allergens, e.g. in hotel or hospital rooms. Depending on the model, the following HEPA filters are available for removing particles with a size of <1 μm:

  • E11 - for germs, bacteria, and viruses: Separation efficiency >95 %
