How to benefit from a four-way pallet truck
Our 4-way pallet trucks are ideal for applications requiring particularly agile and flexible goods handling in confined spaces. Unlike our hand pallet trucks, designed for forward and reverse travel, four-way pallet jacks feature additional transverse rollers that also allow the device to be moved sideways. 1. What are the advantages of a 4-way pallet truck?
A 4-way pallet truck offers several advantages for warehouse, workshops, or sale rooms applications:
- Omnidirectional movement: 4-way pallet jacks are extremely manoeuvrable and can assist with the handling, transportation, and storage of goods in confined spaces such as narrow aisles. In addition, our products are also suitable for transporting extra-wide or extra-long goods. The steering drawbar enables a steering angle of up to 205°.
- Robust and durable quality: All four-way pallet trucks have a welded steel frame profile and a reinforced steering drawbar. Even with high loads of up to 2500kg, the entire construction is torsion-free.
- High-performance pump with overload valve: The lifting motion of the 4-way pallet truck is powered by a durable hydraulic pump made of high-strength steel. The chrome-plated pressure pistons are designed for intensive use and are protected by an overload valve.
- Smooth-running castors: Both the swivel and fork castors of the 4-way pallet truck are made of highly resistant polyurethane (PE). Quiet and effortless manoeuvring is facilitated by infeed and outfeed rollers for pallet pick-up.
2. How does a 4-way pallet truck work?
The 4-way pallet trucks from our range are incredibly easy to set up for transporting pallets. After picking up the pallets, you can then lift the forks to a height of 180mm by pumping approximately eight times until the transverse rollers touch down completely on the ground. The drawbar can then be rotated by 90° and fixed. The forks are now perpendicular to the transport direction.
Please note: If the 4-way pallet truck is to be used for transverse motion, the maximum load capacity is reduced. For a model with a maximum load capacity of 2500kg, the maximum for transverse movement would be approximately 1500kg.
