Dolly skates

A heavy-duty dolly skate is a useful aid for transporting goods within warehouses and workspaces. The compact devices are mobile, convenient, and offer a low dead weight. In contrast to other movement aids such as transport rollers or pallet chassis, dolly skates can still be used to move exceedingly high loads such as machinery, industrial components or containers.

Thanks to the low overall height of the dolly skate, the risk of tipping over is also significantly reduced.

1. Select dolly skates by type

Machine dolly skates are available in various configurations, each of which is suitable for different purposes. Which chassis is best suited to your needs depends on the weight and dimensions of your goods. The on-site conditions also play an important role when selecting an appropriate model:

2. Make sure you have a sufficiently large contact surface

The surface contact for a heavy-duty machine dolly must be large enough to ensure goods can be transported safely and won’t tip over. In most cases, the models with a large contact surface are also equipped with several rollers on which the weight of the load can be evenly distributed.

For goods with very large dimensions, it may also be advantageous to position more than one heavy-equipment dolly skate under the corners or outer edges of the load. That way, the weight is distributed over multiple support points. It is also possible to use a heavy-duty dolly skate with an adaptable width that can be configured to the dimensions of the goods.

3. Buy dolly skates with a suitable load capacity
