Chain barrier posts: How to find the right model

Chain barriers are one of the most versatile options from our safety barriers range. A chain post set allows you to protect and cordon off large areas quickly, easily, and cost-effectively. Thanks to their low weight and versatility, these security aids can be transported to the site and set up as required in no time at all. As the chain posts do not require anchoring to the ground, they are particularly suitable as temporary barriers for both indoor and outdoor sites.

For example, chain barriers can be used to mark parking areas or to regulate road access. They can also be used to delineate footpaths or to cordon off restricted areas. Like retractable barriers, chain barriers can prove vitally important when controlling footfall and the overall visitor journey. As they can be moved and rearranged on demand, a chain post set can be quickly altered to suit any number of environments and requirements.

Please note: The reflective colour markings (red-white/yellow-black) of the bollards and chain barriers are primarily designed for greater visibility and cannot be used to reliably protect against intentional climbing. The chain barriers also do not provide impact protection. For this purpose, we offer certified impact protectors.

1. Buy the right chain barrier type

Chain posts with foldable base

To help you find the right barrier solution for your needs, the chain barriers and post sets are available in several types:

  • If your company does not yet have barrier posts, it is best to opt for the complete package of barrier chains including posts and stands. Available in sets of four or six barrier posts with chain eyelets and hooks in a universal design. Each set is suitable for the quick and temporary closure of hazardous areas, driveways, or entrances.
  • To supplement existing chain barrier systems or to replace defective barrier posts, we also carry individual barrier posts with bases in a range of sizes and materials. These are offered without a chain included. The sturdy hooks are compatible with most existing chains.
  • Suitable for all types of chain posts, you can also buy individual chains from us. The barrier chain is made of plastic (polypropylene) and is available in a red-white or yellow-black design. The weatherproof and impact-proof barrier chain is non-conductive and available in lengths of up to 10m. To hang the chain, we offer connecting links made of plastic or durable nylon.

2. Select chain barrier posts by stand type

All our chain barriers are made of durable plastic to reduce weight and make transport easy and efficient. Detachable stands then ensure that they achieve the required stability on all surfaces. Different stand types are available from Jungheinrich PROFISHOP to suit your specific needs:
