How to find the right lockers

Access to storage lockers provides your employees or customers with theft-proof storage options for clothing, valuables, work equipment and more. Our buying guide will help you choose suitable customer and staff lockers for a range of applications including within break areas, recreational spaces and changing rooms.

With an appropriate locker system in place, you can keep rooms neat and organised, as well as offer safe and accessible storage for everyday clothing, protective work equipment, laundry or personal valuables. 2. Buying the right locker – the most important selection criteria

Metal storage lockers are available in various configurations and sizes from our online shop. To ensure you select the correct lockers for your needs, consider the following criteria:

  • Purpose: What will be typically stored in the lockers? Is it necessary to store every day and work clothes separately? What are the dimensions and/or constraints of the room where the lockers will be placed?
  • Layout: How many compartments or shelves should the storage lockers offer? Are coat rails needed? Should employee lockers offer integrated benches for changing into work clothing?

Select metal lockers according to intended use

Since lockers can be used for a range of applications beyond storage of personal items, including offering a place to change into and out of work equipment, or as office lockers to secure sensitive documents, it is best to consider the primary intended use first.

Below, you will find examples of an intended purpose, suitable locker types, and other potential and suitable use cases:

Purpose suitable locker type Other uses
Storage of everyday, work or spare clothes
  • Depending on the locker layout, it may also be suitable for work equipment
Separate storage of personal and (possibly dirty) work clothes
  • Double lockers
  • Depending on the model, also suitable for storing other equipment

Consider the configuration of the storage locker

The layout of the locker is critical to whether it will meet the requirements of its intended use. At Jungheinrich PROFISHOP, we offer you the following partitioning options, with which you can adapt the storage locker to your requirements:

Layout or feature Options
Single or double compartment
  • Single compartment: For a single person
  • Double compartment: For the separate storing of clothes or equipment
Number of compartments
  • individual large compartments as storage for shoes, bags, towels etc.
Shelves
  • Insertable shelves create new, configurable compartments
  • Can also be used as shoe or hat racks
Coat rails
  • Depending on the model, integrated in the locker compartment or between two cabinets

3. Clothes storage lockers: versatile storage options for a range of applications

Store work and civilian clothes, as well as occupational safety equipment such as safety shoes or head protection in a clean, dry and protected environment. The metal lockers in our range are ideally equipped for this purpose: Integrated ventilation slots in the front doors and other panels (depending on the model) provide optimal, hygienic ventilation for stored items.

For maximum ventilation, lockers with a perforated field are also available, as opposed to solid sheet metal doors. This is particularly advantageous if damp work clothes or shoes are to be stored.

The robust body and low-wear door elements also make the lockers highly durable and long-lasting, even with intensive use. The powder coating allows installation in humid environments and combats the effects of rust. To find the right locker for your needs, choose from two basic models, available with a flat base or mounted feet (depending on the manufacturer):

Clothes locker model Details
Tall model storage lockers
  • Hang garments on integrated coat rails without creasing
  • Space for shoes or bags to be stored on separate shelves
  • Can be locked in a theft-proof manner
Dual-compartment storage lockers
  • Separate compartments with integrated clothes rail
  • Can be locked in a theft-proof manner
